History
In the late 1970’s, Dr. Marvin Mostellar donated the land for a much needed medical facility in South Mobile County. Through his philanthropy and the forming of the Bayou La Batre Area Health Development Board, Inc., Mostellar Medical Center came to life in February 1978.
Originally offering health services in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, a need for Obstetrics and Gynecology was realized and that division came to fruition in July 1987.
